Carpet and their Types used in Hospitality industry.

Today we will have training class on Carpet and their Types.

INTRODUCTION:-

Carpet are an expensive assets to hotel. They feature in capital budget. Great care is taken in the selection and lying of carpet in room, Lobby or public area.

Being valuable asset there care and maintenance have to be regular and follow correct procedure. Basically there are 4 major Types of carpet.

1) Woolen Carpet:-

Woolen carpet have the largest pile. There colour is faster and they have luxurious feelings Nd are easy to maintain but the most expensive. They are not highly inflammable and can absorb sound well.

2)  Cotton Carpet:-

They are not resistant as woolen carpet. There colour fade faster. They are inexpensive hence don't give much luxurious feel. They do not absorb sound well. Such type of carpet is not recommended for finest category of Hotel.

3) Synthetic Carpet:-

They are highly inflammable. Their shelf are very less as do not last very long. There colors is very vast and they cannot be absorb sound.

4) Silk Carpet:-

Silk carpet are very expensive and delicate. Hence, they are used in very limited place or in less movement place. Their shelf life is also very less but they are very luxurious looking. Silk carpet can absorb sound well and are in vast colour. They are very less resistance.
