DND:- Do Not Disturb- Housekeeping, Hotel.

DND


 As we all know that DND Stands for Do Not Disturb. It Means that Guest do not want to disturb him during his stay, it might be for Few Minutes, Few hours, Full day or might be during his full stay. 


Today we will learn more about the DND Procedure.

Types Of DND:-


Basically There are Two Types of DND.

  1. Single DND,
  2. Double DND.

 Single DND:- 

Any Guest Rooms which stands for DND for maximum 12 Hours are known as Single DND.

Double DND:-

Any Guest rooms which stands for DND for more than 12 Hours are known as Double DND.

DND Procedure:-

1) Maintain Highest level of silence outside the room. No unnecessary talks, Mobile should be on silent Mode, Carried out your cleaning work in a very polite manner.

2) Maintain the noise level of 22dB outside the DND room.

3} If you found any room DND so you need to mention it in your staff checklist and Mention the same in to your floor occupancy report(If in case showing DND at the time of taking occupancy).

4) If room stands for DND till 14:00 Hrs. then Housekeeping staff has to place DND slip inside the room With His Signature and Time of Placing Card and mention same in your 14:00 Hrs Occupancy Report( If you have a SOP Of sending occupancy by 14:00 Hrs.)

5) After 2 pm Housekeeping desk coordinator or Housekeeping Supervisor will make a call to the guest room and ask for any service required. if guest pick up the call then we will follow the guest instruction.

6) If guest did not pick up the call then around 3 Pm( Depends upon Hotel to Hotel) Duty Manager, Housekeeping Executive and security In charge will go to the floor and knock the guest room. 

Do not use Housekeeping Master key to open DND Room due to security Reasons.

7) Duty Manager, Housekeeping executive & Security in charge will open the room and they will check  the room for security purpose and then finally they will hang MASTER DND card at door knob.

8) Mention the same in your floor checklist and staff handover book.

Points to be remember:-


1) Never Open Crew members room even in any situation until and unless guest is not asking you for any service.

2) If the guest checked in same day early morning so guest can't be disturbed at 14:00 Hrs. Housekeeping staff has to escalate the message by saying that guest checked in early morning. That room has to be open by evening 19:00 Hrs(or as per the hotel policy).

3) Importance of 3S IN DND:-

S:- Silence,
S:- Safety,
S:- Security.
